It's been way too long since I've updated this blog. Shame on me! Well, to my excuse...it's been pretty busy. It's all been a very good kind of busy.
Last week we said good-bye to our Japanese exchange students. We love them dearly and are so thankful for the chance to get to know them and have lots of fun with them. But, it's also good to get back to normal (kind of) around here.
One fun thing is that Hannah's golf continues to be so rewarding for her. Her teacher said he hates giving out compliments but, that Hannah has a better swing that more than half of his students (who are mostly adults). He said she's got more natural talent than any child her age he's worked with...and he's worked with hundreds of kids. OK- so I'm bragging...I'm sorry...but, that is just really fun to me. The thing I love is that she genuinely LOVES it! I believe golf will be a big part of our family in the future. It's a great way to spend a lot of time together.
Below are a slew of pictures I just took from my phone from the past couple of weeks.

| We went to the Naval Undersea Museum as a spontaneous and free activity. The kids were all about learning about submarines. |

| Zoo day with some friends! Henry got caught by a giant spider. But thankfully Super Girl, aka Hannah, saved him. |

August 16- Spring/Summer Review
It just occurred to me that Summer is almost over! It was just this past March that we moved out of our house in Hawaii and made the big trip to NJ. Martin went to school in CT, which was not an easy course (putting it lightly). The kids and I went to see him on the weekends when possible and also made a trip to the Midwest to see family we haven't seen in way too long. After returning to NJ and getting to spend a little time with Martin, the kids and I went into NYC a couple of times. In the middle of June, we had to say good-bye to Mia and Papa Tom and traveled over 2,800 miles all the way to WA. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH to Mia and Papa Tom for letting us live with you and loving us so much for those several months!
Now, we are settled! The house is all moved in (except 2 boxes in the garage that I really just haven't felt like dealing with). Martin is hard at work at his new job. We have found a church that we LOVE! Hannah has done Vacation Bible School, Forest Camp and Soccer Camp. We have had 2 Japanese exchange students stay with us. Hannah begins school next month. And Henry is almost potty trained (soooo close!) and is really starting to read small words (pig, fox, box, etc.). We've had a few parties and hope to have many more as we develop relationships with the people associated with Martin's job, our church and other friends.
Phew! Life is such an amazing ride!!!

The day before we left Hawaii, our friends threw Henry a surprise birthday party!
